What is WASHTO?

The Western Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (WASHTO) is an association of the transportation departments of 18 states in the Western United States.

WASHTO provides a forum for exchanging ideas, exploring and adapting techniques, promoting quality and best practices for implementation. In advocating legislation that supports efficient and effective transportation systems, economic competitiveness and the environmental integrity of member states, WASHTO contributes to national policies on transportation issues that are responsive to members’ needs.

Purpose
